Louisa B Apothecary is a small business run by Louise Howard, an aromatherapist and ex-holistic therapist in Lancashire. Louise is dedicated to making high-quality products that not only smell incredible but also bring the therapeutic benefits of the essential oils into your home.

Passionate about keeping artisan products alive and encouraging people to shop handmade rather than mass-produced. Louise makes her soaps using the traditional cold process method. Louise named the company after her great grandma Louisa Brown. 

The philosophy

Louise's philosophy is all about keeping it natural; she only uses essential oils, never any synthetic fragrances. The soaps are coloured using clays or botanical infusions. Each product is made to the highest quality.

She believes her soaps offer the best lather you’ll ever experience! There are no preservatives, parabens, or any nasties in any of the products, and all of our products are suitable for vegans.

Established in 2012

Louise founded Louisa B Apothecary in 2012 after being inspired by Kirstie Allsopp's soap-making demonstration on TV. She decided to give it a try and was instantly hooked. This marked the beginning of a long journey of experimentation to perfect her soaps and, later, expand into other products. 

In 2013, Louise trained as an aromatherapist and began creating therapeutic aromatherapy blends to support her holistic therapy clients. From there, Louisa B Apothecary went from strength to strength
